The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam that assesses candidates’ eligibility for teaching positions in schools throughout India. The exam, administered by the CBSE, takes place twice a year, typically in July and December. On April 27th, 2023, the Central Teacher Eligibility Test–July 2023 released the CTET Notification 2023, which includes all pertinent information and is available on the official website www.ctet.nic.in. Aspiring teachers must register for the CTET 2023 July Exam, and the registration link will be active from April 27th to May 26th, 2023. To become a teacher for Classes I-V (primary level), you need to have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). For Classes VI-VIII (elementary level), you need to have a graduation degree along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). Eligibility Criteria for CTET Exam
For appearing in CTET 2023 July Exam Candidates need to meet some Eligibility Criteria like Educational Qualification, Age Limit etc. The Eligibility Criteria is Mention below.
Educational Qualification
Candidates need to fullfill certain educational requirements that vary for the Primary and Secondary Levels. Refer to the table below for the educational Qualification required for each level.
Primary Level (Class 1 to 5)
- Candidates must Attaining a minimum of 50% marks in senior secondary (or its equivalent).
- Candidates should pass or in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
OR
- Candidates must Attaining a minimum of 45% marks in senior secondary (or its equivalent).
- According to NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, Candidates must either complete or be enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
- Candidates must Attaining a minimum of 50% marks in senior secondary (or its equivalent).
- Candidates Must either pass or be in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
- Candidates must Attaining a minimum of 50% marks in senior secondary (or its equivalent).
- Candidates Should have passed Certificate of 2 Year Diploma in Education (Special Edition)
OR
- Candidates Should have Graduation Degree with Relevant Subject.
- Candidates Must have a Certificate of 2-Year Diploma in Education.
Elementary Level (Class 6 to 8)
- Candidates must have a Bachelor Degree in Relevant Discipline.
- Also, Candidate Must complete or be enrolled in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name it is known).
OR
- it is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Candidate must have complete a 1-Year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
OR
- Candidates have to Complete Graduation with at Least 45% marks in the Relevant Discipline.
- Candidates need to complete at least a year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) as per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations that apply to this requirement.
OR
- Candidates must have a senior secondary (or equivalent) qualification with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Candidate must have completed or be appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
OR
- Candidates Should have a senior secondary (or equivalent) qualification with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Candidate should Complete or Appear in the Final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. degree.

- Candidate will have Graduated with at least 50% marks.
- Candidate need to pass or appeared in a 1-Year B.Ed (Special Edition).

CTET 2023 Exam Pattern
CTET Exam pattern has Two Papers. Paper-I is for Primary Level( Class 1 to 5) and Paper-II is for Elementary Level (Class 6 to 8).
- Paper-I is for Those Candidates who want to Become a Teacher for Class 1 to 5.
