Assam Special TET 2023: The official notification for the 6th Schedule Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2023 has been issued by the Assam government. This test is for the Lower Primary and Upper Primary levels and is specifically for the districts in the 6th Schedule area of Assam. Candidates who are interested and eligible and have a permanent residence in the 6th Schedule area districts of Assam are eligible to appear for Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper II (Upper Primary) of the Special 6th Schedule TET-2023.
Candidates who pass the 6th Schedule Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will be eligible to take part in the recruitment process for the position of elementary school teacher in schools situated in the 6th Schedule area, as long as they meet the other academic and professional qualifications required by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Validity of TET Certificate: TET Certificate has lifetime validity.
Qualification Marks: A candidate is required to score 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers’ Eligibility Test(TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5%. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam TET
Residentship: Candidates must be a permanent Resident of 6th Schedule District, i.e. Baksa, Chirang, Dima-Hasao, Kokrajhar, Karbi-Anglong, West Karbi-Anglong and Udalguri.
Educational Qualification: The Educational Qualifications for Lower Primary and Upper Primary Assam TET Exam are mention below-
Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)
1.Complete Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Complete Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Complete Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Complete Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Complete Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from any NCTE recognized institution. But you must undergo a 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within 2 years of appointment as a primary teacher.
2. If you are currently pursuing a teacher education course (recognized by NCTE or RCI), and have the Admit Card for the final year examination, you are eligible to apply for TET. But, you can only apply for a teaching job after completing all the required qualifications.
Note: If you were accepted into a two-year D.El.Ed program before August 31, 2009, please check Clause B under the “Relaxation” subheading.
Upper Primary TET(Class VI to VIII)
(A) Completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name), along with a Bachelor’s degree.
OR
Obtained at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation, and a Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) degree.
OR
Completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.) degree.
OR
Completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year degree in B.A./B.Sc. Ed. or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
OR
Completed Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B. Ed. (Special Education) degree.
Note: if you had already taken admission to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Elementary Education, or equivalent course before July 29, 2011, the minimum percentage requirement for Graduation marks will not be applicable to you.
(B) If you are currently pursuing a teacher education course that is recognized by the NCTE or the RCI and have an Admit Card for the final year examination, you may apply for the TET. However, you will only be eligible for appointment after you have completed all the necessary qualifications.
Remarks: If you were admitted to a 1-year B.Ed. program before August 31, 2009, please refer to Clause C under the “Relaxation” subheading.
Relaxation: Following Relaxation will be Applicable-
A. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) can receive a relaxation of up to 5% in their academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation to appear in TET. PH candidates must have a minimum of 40% disability certified by the competent authority.
B. Candidates who were admitted to a 2-year D.El.Ed program before August 31, 2009, as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated August 31, 2009, and have subsequently qualified the program can receive a relaxation of up to 5% in their HSSLC marks for Paper-I (LP Level) of TET.
C. Candidates who were admitted to a 1-year B.Ed. program before August 31, 2009, as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated August 31, 2009, and have subsequently qualified the program can receive a relaxation of up to 5% in their Graduation marks for Paper-II (UP Level) of TET.
